The project used the urban strategy to solve the problem of the existing public-use site facing the entrance to the Santa Pola city on the south side and became the “city portal”. The road connecting the towns of Santa Pola and Elche passes through an area shaped by industrial buildings, close to the front of the public area, and is the entrance to the city itself. Therefore, the project must be characterized as a landmark and become an organic and holistic building volume and space.

The main function of the building is a new bus stop, located at the most important location on the site, close to the road loop, with direct visibility towards all directions. And a green area is placed next to the road, emphasizing its public attributes.

Formally, the main station building consists of a huge floating platform that provides shade and protection for the waiting platform. The ticket office, service area and gas station and store below the deck are on the back side. The main deck has a hollow space in the central area to provide sunlight, rest, and define the boundaries between different functions and spaces.
