Aluminum Plate Louver Decoration For International Student Dormitory In Seongju University, Japan
The construction of the International Student Dormitory Building of the City University of West Japan consists of finished aluminum shutters of different sizes. Each cantilever is maximally extended to transmit vertical loads, creating an interwoven texture effect on both the facade and the section.
Blinds unify the facade of the building, presenting a single project feature rather than a collection of multiple dorm units. The aluminum louvers on the south façade reflect the daylight throughout the day, presenting the colors of the book: from white to silver in the morning, to orange in the evening, and orange in the evening. Under the façade facade, multiple sliding glass doors open to the corridor, reminding people of the Japanese side of the “edge”. Shared spaces, corridors and balconies extend the crowded living space to the outside.
