Perforated Aluminum Veneer For A Futuristic And Light-Gray Urban Pavilion

The “Speedy Boat” city exhibition hall is located in the core area of the central business district of Lijia New District on the Jialing River, close to the waterfront low-density business district of Chongqing City Center and the top residential area in the future. At the beginning of the project, it was the sales demonstration center of Longhu Lake Biwa No., which was later used for commercial operations and art exhibitions. It was opened to the public as a city pavilion, aiming to endorse the future high-end urban life in Chongqing.

In order to shape the futuristic and light-gray texture of the building’s light anti-gravity, the architects customized the perforated aluminum veneer by parametric design, making the original concept of gauze texture perfect. Under the porch, the architect carefully selected the mirror-coated stainless steel plate as the skin material of the promenade, and matched the perforation pattern and the ceiling light box design to show the “Xinghe” effect.
