World Architecture Culture Tour – Dalian International Conference Center
The Dalian International Conference Center was designed and operated by the Austrian Blue Sky Group and the Dalian Architectural Design and Research Institute. It uses modern technology to create a magical space, making the seemingly impossible design a reality. The Dalian International Conference Center won the award for the best building category awarded by the world famous architectural design magazine Wallpaper.
The Dalian International Conference Center is located at the intersection of the city and the sea. It looks like a “shell” floating in the air, quietly interpreting the temperament and charm of the city. As a very typical deconstructed building, the Dalian International Conference Center’s architectural structure is extremely complex, and its structural scheme is comparable to the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube.
The interior and exterior of the building adopts a double-layer curtain wall structure. The roof adopts a box-shaped aluminum honeycomb panel with an upright seaming roofing system; the decorative exterior wall of the facade is a combination of perforated aluminum veneers and louvers, and the inner layer is a glass curtain wall. The ceiling and wall made of aluminum veneer are covered with silver-gray luminescence, and a number of aerial bridges are crossed from the top of the head, which are twisted and twisted to connect different functional space.
How the Dalian International Conference Center reflects the delicate feeling of a single material in a great field is a major problem in architecture. A large number of perforated aluminum veneers are used in the plane and the facade, while meeting the requirements of styling and lighting. After punching, the metal aluminum plate becomes very light. A 45% perforation rate allows natural light to enter the room directly. Outside the window is the blue sea, the view in the hall is transparent, and the soft sunlight shines from the ceiling aluminum window, which adds a warm and lustrous color to the silver metal plate.
